Steps Challenge

Walking is magical. A good walk can clear your mind and reset your mood. It can help with digestion and lower blood glucose. You get some of your best ideas on a walk and it’s relaxing for the body and the mind. Walking is more than just exercise… Walking is not only therapeutic, but it’s also one of the most underrated fitness hacks.

The challenge starts March 24. On Saturday March 29 we have our GROUP EVENT: Walk Around Creve Coeur Lake. The challenge ends on Easter. We will do the raffle drawing on March 21 at the evening class.

We will use the StepUp free app for either Apple or Android. Having a tracker watch is not required but will make it a lot easier.

The first time you click on the link it will take you to app store to get the app. After you download the app and set it up, you are supposed to be able to click on the link again, however, many have had to copy and paste the link in the “Enter link to add friend/group” form in the app in order to join our TCF group. When you see all of our names in the group, you’ll know you’re good to go.

CHALLENGE DETAILS

There will be one prize winner each week! The same person can’t receive the weekly prize twice. In this scenario, the prize will go to the person with the second highest step count.

If you win a weekly prize, don’t let off the gas, because you’re still competing for the Grand Prize, the person with the most steps for the entire challenge.

There will also be an award for the MOST CONSISTENT person over the course of the challenge.

You can do this challenge from literally anywhere. Get out in nature whenever possible. The weather is getting nice and this is a great time to get on a roll heading into the spring season. And walking is amazing for you.

If you’re OVER 60 years old, walking 6,000-8,000 steps per day cuts the risk of dying early in HALF. If you’re UNDER 60, walking 8,000-10,000 steps per day cuts the risk of dying early in HALF.
